Dear Parents and Carers of Sycamore Tree Class,

 

Welcome back to the Autumn term! The children have settled exceptionally well into Year 6 and have already hit the ground running with lots of exciting learning.

 

Our Habit of Mind this term is curiosity; we have had to use a lot of this whilst exploring different types of mathematical problems and deciding what type of structure they have. Sycamore Tree Class have thoroughly enjoyed asking lots of questions about the circus and tightrope walking linked to our first book of the year The Girl Who Walked on Air. They have brought lots of creativity into their writing so far and are challenging themselves with writing from different character perspectives. In Science, we have begun to explore classification and evolution and are having to look for clues to help us unpick how and why certain species have evolved in the way that they have.

 

We are thoroughly looking forward to our residential to Osmington Bay in a few weeks time and all the challenges and 'wow moments' that it will bring!
