Welcome to Year 3!

Welcome back to school after a great summer. You've started so well Cherry Tree class, and I look forward to some great learning this year!

 

Key information for parents and guardians. 

 

PE lessons will take place on Thursdays. Please ensure your child has the correct kit in school from the start of term, including a suitable pair of trainers.

 

Home Learning will be set on Tuesdays each week and will focus primarily on times tables, key number facts, spellings and reading. All homework will be set on google classroom using your child’s log in. When you have completed your homework you can press ‘hand in’ and attach any necessary tasks so I can have a look and add on house points! 

 

Reading

All children will be able to choose reading books to take home with them using our accelerated reader and phonics schemes. Children will be able to complete quizzes both in school and at home for any accelerated reader books they have completed. If you have read a book from home or from the library, you can also search the title of these books to see if there is a quiz on accelerated reader. Login details should be in reading records. 

 

Please encourage your child to read as regularly as possible; three times a week is a good target. Please remember to record any reading in their reading records to help the children earn reading stars and house points!

 

School Rules

Our school rules remain as Ready, Respectful and Safe. We have high expectations of every child in the class and will use house points, Golden Book certificates, class marble jar rewards and lots of praise to celebrate the children demonstrating these high expectations.
