Year 5 - Mulberry Tree Class

Welcome to Mulberry Tree Class,

Dear Parents,

It has been a great start to Year 5 for Mulberry Tree Class. I am really enjoying the children's high level questioning and deep thinking skills.  I have been impressed by growing resilience on the running track, supportive collaboration in team games, pride and care with handwriting and determination to succeed in Maths.

We are currently exploring Kensuke's Kingdom in English, working towards a range of diary entries and letters.  Following this, we will start work on Romsey Abbey in History, Geography and English.  The children and I are guaranteed to learn a wealth of new things in this topic so prepare to hear all about it.

We have agreed a class target and motto of 'Be our best' for this year and I am looking forward to see the children working towards this and discovering what this means for them.

Our class question is 'Can I make a stand?' so throughout the term we will explore things worth standing up for and how we can do this.  As part of this we will be learning how formal debating works and recording our very own formal debate for the school website.

Exciting times ahead...
