Science at Romsey Abbey Primary School

How we teach Science:

At Romsey Abbey Primary School, we aim to provide skills to develop an understanding of the world around us. We equip pupils with a solid knowledge of concepts, promoting an enquiry based approach.

To facilitate this enquiry based approach, we pose a question as a starting point. Pupils apply the knowledge taught to investigate and answer these questions.

Over the course of the school year, children undertake a longitudinal study on the school grounds and observe the environmental changes. Data is gathered and analysed to formulate our conclusions.

Our annual whole school trip to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in the Autumn term is a particular highlight for us, as we immerse ourselves in the nature on our door step and deepen our understanding.
