Early Years

79% of all children achieved a ‘Good Level of Development’ against a national average of 72%  and 77% in Hampshire in 2018.

 

Year 1- Phonics

At Romsey Abbey Primary School we follow the Letters and Sounds phonics materials. National screening for phonics took place in Summer 2018 in Year 1, the percentage of children who achieved the standard was 97%. Any child who has not met the standard is routinely supported and then re-assessed in Year 2, 100% of the children who re-took the test passed.

Key Stage 2

In May 2018 our Year 6 children sat end of Key Stage tests. The results of these tests measure the progress and attainment of children in their reading, writing maths and EPGS (English punctuation, grammar and spelling).  There is also a combined measure for achieving the expected standard (or better), in reading, writing and maths.
